BE-BIG Damkerng Thitapiyasak - A theatre director, playwright, play-doctor and acting coach for films, and lecturer in drama & theatre arts born in 1967. Completed a MFA degree in Theatre Directing from Middlesex University in 1998 (granted by the British Council Scholarship & the British Chevening Scholarship). His numerous stage productions in Thailand since 1987 include A MAN AND HIS SHADOWS (1987), THE WORLD MARKET (1987), THE JUST (1988), OF MICE AND MEN (1988), ROMULUS THE GREAT (1989), THE MOUSETRAP (1990), BILOXI BLUES (1990), 2000 DOOMSDAY?: the Rock Opera [adapted from Mr. Noah and the Second Flood] (1991), RHINOCEROS (1992), STEEL MAGNOLIAS (1993), BLITHE SPIRIT (1993), THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW (1993), THE METAMORPHOSIS (1995), LOVE! VALOUR! COMPASSION! (1997), FAUST (1997), LYSISTRATA (2000), RASHOMON CONDO', ZHANGHAI: the Cinematic Musical (2004), NAUGTHY, CRAZY - WE ARE THE BRAVE! (2004), THE TOOSIE HORROR REALITY SHOW (2005), THE BLUE ROOM (2007), PUSH UP 1-3 (2007 & 2008), BREAKING THE SURFACE (2008), WAITING FOR G.D.(2008), ARMS AND THE MAN: the anti-romantic musical (2008), HAMLET: the techno drama (2009) and the most recent production NANG NAK THE MUSEUM (2009). Some of his directing and acting works were also presented in international theatre festivals including SILHOUETTE OF GOD (India, 1991), WHO SELLS THE BEST MEDICINE? (Japan, 1992), and DAENG BETWEEN TWO WORLDS (Germany, 1993 and London-Edinburgh, 1994). He also did several translations and adaptations of plays as well as writing the TV dramas include CHAO-KHAM-NAI-WANE, KAWOW-TI-BANGPLEANG, SAI-LOHIT, INDRAYUTH, SAILOM-KUB-SAMRAO, RAJAKUNING, BHROMA MAHARAJ and the screenplays STRAIGHTEN UP (2005), GHOST GAME (2006), VALENTINE (2007) and THE ROOMMATE (2009). During 1999-2005 he had worked with Bangkok Drama, a subsidiary of BEC World Public Co., Ltd, as the Principal of the Bangkok Drama Academy for Performing Arts (formerly known as the Channel 3 Acting School) and the Dramaturg for the TV drama production section. He has been also the acting coach for more than 20 Thai film productions as well as lecturer of acting and screenwriting at the Faculty of Humanities, the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, during 1999-2004.
